A Glorious Launching of the Homily Books of Fr. Gilles Lague, CSC at Moreau House
A Glorious Launching of the Homily book ceremony of Fr. Gilles Lague, CSC (Gilbert) took place at Moreau House, Rampura, Dhaka, on May 24, 2022. In this launching ceremony, the two parts of the homily Book; “Speak Lord, your servant is listening” were unveiled by Rev. Fr. Gilles Lague, CSC, and other guests. The program began with a friendly basketball match between four different teams consisting of priests, and the seminarians from three formation houses. The game met its end with the victory of the seminarians from Christo Darshan Seminary.

At 6 pm, all the guests, priests, brothers, sisters, and seminarians assembled in the Conference Room located in the Moreau house extension building. His Eminence Cardinal Patrick D. Rozario, CSC, ornamented the seat of the chief guest. The special guest was Archbishop Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI, Archbishop of Dhaka, though he could not attend because of his emergency meeting. Other distinguished guests were Bishop Theotonious Gomes, CSC; Sr. Rina Palma, LHC, Superior General, Congregation of the Little Handmaids of the Church; Fr. Patrick Gaffney, CSC, VC, Notre Dame University Bangladesh; Br. Subol Lawrence Rozario, CSC, Provincial, St. Joseph Province; and Sr. Violet Rodrigues,CSC, Area coordinator in Asia of Holy Cross Sisters. Fr. George Kamal Rozario, CSC, Provincial, Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, presided over the program. Fr. James Cruze, CSC, in his opening speech, mentioned his earnest desire to see Fr. Gilles’s homilies and reflections published in book form, and expressed his gratitude and satisfaction as the work was successfully done. In his speech, Cardinal shared his experiences with Fr. Gilles and witnessed how Fr. Gilbert was ever ready with his written homily for every single mass he offered throughout his entire priestly life, and from this example, he (Cardinal) derived inspiration. Later, Rev. Fr. Gilles expressed his gratitude to the people who inspired and motivated him to publish his works. In his sharing, he delineated the steps and levels of his life explicitly. The events of his priestly life, since its beginning, had been filled with various events that enriched him, how people inspired him, and how he always prepared before the Holy Eucharist. He cordially thanked the organizers of the program. After that, the books were unveiled with a big round of applause, and the whole hall suddenly seemed to be radiating exhilaration.

Eventually, the Provincial Fr. George Kamal Rozario, with his thanksgiving speech, marks the end of the program. Later there was a gorgeous banquet for all the present guests.
