Eight Novices of SHJP began their Novitiate at Holy Cross Novitiate, Barishal

With great joy and gratitude to God, the Holy Cross Novitiate, Sagardi, Barishal, Bangladesh has welcomed and has admitted 13 novices including 5 from St. Joseph’s Province and 8 from Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, Bangladesh on January 1, 2024.  The Rite of Initiation into Religious Life was presided over by Fr. Vincent B. Rozario, CSC, Novice Master and he was assisted by his Assistant Br. Shimul A. Rozario, CSC. During the ceremony, the Novice Master Fr. Vincent tied a thread on the wrist of the right hand of each novice with Rakhsha (means safety) Bandhan (means bond ) and handed them lit candles, and then the novices were given the Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross and the crucifix. The Rite of Initiation was attended by Holy Cross Fathers and Brothers, one diocesan priest and also MC Sisters.

The eight novices from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province are:

1) Astiar Stephen Mree, Diglakuna Parish, Mymensingh Catholic Diocese

2) Carry Gabriel Pereira, Nagari Parish, Dhaka Catholic Archdiocese

3) Dorshon Denis Chamugong, Dorgachala Parish, Mymensingh Catholic Diocese

4) Johon Joseph Roy, Kellabari Parish, Dinajpur Catholic Diocese

5) Prodip Patrick Soren, Mundumala Parish, Rajshahi Catholic Diocese

6) Pronoy Anthony Chambugong, Mariamnagar Parish, Mymensingh Catholic Diocese

7) Rudra Nicholas Gonsalves, Nagari Parish, Dhaka Catholic Archdiocese; and

8) Saikot Sylvester Costa, Mathurapur Parish, Rajshahi Catholic Diocese.

Besides them, five novices of St. Joseph Province, Bangladesh began their novitiate. They are;

1) Borshon Paul Corraya, Tumilia Paris, Dhaka Catholic Archdiocese,

 2) Jason Hubert Rozario, Doripara Parish, Dhaka Catholic Archdiocese,

 3) Punno Ambrose Murmu, Mariampur Parish, Dinajpur Catholic Diocese,

4) Shanto Frederick Rozario, Nagari Parish,  Dhaka Catholic Archdiocese; and

5) Stephen Choyon Tripura, Bandarban Parish, Chottogram Catholic Archdiocese.

We wish them all a good beginning. May God bless them and protect them in their spiritual journey for the whole year.
