Fr. Mithu Palma, CSC, was born on November 2, 1987, at Chitkigari village under Mariabad Parish, Borni, Rajshahi. He took his first vows on August 1, 2014, and made his perpetual vows on May 26, 2021, and the next day he was ordained deacon at the Holy Cross Scholasticate Chapel, Rampura, Dhaka. After having experiences and diaconate ministry at Bolipara, Mathbari, and Radhanagar, he was approved by the Provincial administration and the date was fixed for his priestly ordination
As the preparation of ordination, there was a Holy Hour and adoration to the Blessed Sacrament on December 30, 2021, in the afternoon. The prayer service started at 4 p.m and many parishioners participated in this special prayer. Afterward, the Mongolnusthan program or purifying with turmeric program started outside of the Church. Fathers, brothers, Sisters, his parents, and parishioners blessed him with this program.
On the next day, December 31, 2021, he was ordained as a priest by the Most Rev. Gervas Rozario, CSC at the Mariabad Parish, Borni, Rajshahi. Besides him, 40 priests, 40 priests, Brothers, Sisters, Seminarians, and 1500 parishioners were present in the Mass. In the homily, the Bishop said, “Everyone must help a Priest to be Holy. Without holiness a Priest cannot be connected with God”. Finally, the ordination ceremony ended with lunch and reception.
On the next day, Fr. Mithu L. Palma, CSC, offered his first thanksgiving Mass at the Church. On Happy New Year, many people joined in the Mass. Fr. Apollo Rozario, CSC, preached the homily. The program concluded followed by a lunch and cultural program in his village. Here mentionable that he is the only priest in the diocese, who was ordained in 2021.
