Notre Dame School and College Sreemangal

The Notre Dame Junior High School, Sreemangal, has been shifted to a new building with a new name Notre Dame School and College at Sreemangal with a joyous celebration on July 22, 2021. In the new set up 630 students already admitted in 2021. The land and the building owned by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, Bangladesh.

To begin the ceremony, the community gathered outside the school. Everybody waited with anticipation as Principal of the school Fr. Placid Rozario, CSC invited the Archbishop, Most Rev. Bijoy N D’Cruze to cut the ribbon marking the inauguration of the school. As he cut the ribbon, everybody present popped balloon to express their joy. Then they revealed the carved stone in the entryway which commemorate the blessing of the school done by Rev. James Cruze, CSC and inauguration by the Most Rev. Archbishop Bijoy N. D’Cruze, OMI.

The blessing ceremony followed by then a solemn Mass offered by the Most Rev. Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI in the presence of Bishop Shorot Gomes, Bishop of Sylhet, 35 priests from all over the country and a good number of religious, social leaders and some of the laity. After the solemn Mass, the Archbishop, Most Rev. Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI, Rev. James Clement Cruze, CSC, the Provincial Superior of Holy Cross Fathers, Bangladesh, and Rev. Nicholas S. Baroi, CSC, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish, blessed the new building with holy water in the presence of participants.

In this inaugural ceremony, Rev. James Clement Cruze, CSC was honored as the chairman of the whole program and His Excellency Most Rev. Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI, was the chief guest. His Excellency Most Rev. Shorot Francis Gomes, priests and religious, village leaders, Notre Dame teachers, and staff were present in this auspicious program. Following the Mass, there was a cultural program with the participation of teachers, students, and some local artists, all while observing safety measures.
