Prior to the first profession, Rev. Ashim Theotonus Gonsalves, CSC, the novice master, offered a thanksgiving Mass at the Novitiate Chapel along with other Holy Cross priests in the evening as the preparation for the first vows of the 16 novices. In this blissful occasion, the novices and some other guests were present.
The first profession of the nine novices from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, Bangladesh, was held on Oct. 10, 2021 at Holy Cross Novitiate, Barishal, along with other six novices from the St. Joseph Province, Bangladesh. They are; Mr. David Tripura CSC, Mr. Eugene Tripura CSC, Mr. Jony James Murmu CSC, Mr. Mikhael Mardy, CSC, Mr. Nicholas Tripura CSC, Mr. Pias Hebal Karmakar, CSC, Mr. Sojib John Daring, CSC, Mr. Sourov Stephen Chisik, CSC, and Mr. Tonmoy Matthew Toju, CSC. Rev. George Kamal Rozario, CSC, newly elected Provincial of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, Bangladesh, officiated in the Holy Eucharist and Rev. Anthony S. Gomes, CSC, the Assistant Provincial, preached the Homily. The declaration of the first vows were received by the two Provincials, Fr. George Kamal Rozario, CSC and Br. Subal Lawrence Rozario, CSC, for each province. The Mass was took place at the Holy Cross Novitiate Chapel. In this blessed occasion, some of the Holy Cross Priests, diocesan Priests, Brothers and Sisters were present to increase our joy.
After the liturgy, there was a short reception and cultural program. The newly professed and some other people expressed their feelings in the program. Afterwards, there was a Festive meal for all and everyone mixed together and enjoyed each other’s company. Finally, the newly professed seminarians and others left for Dhaka along with their respected Provincials.
