The model making and interior work for the Heritage Corner of the Congregation of Holy Cross was officially started on August 2, 2020. The Heritage Corner is really a great, new initiative of the Province by Rev. James C. Cruze, CSC, Provincial Superior. It is expected that this project will be appreciated in the future for its goal of keeping the heritage and nearly extinct traditions of the Congregation and the country alive.
For the research and design of the Heritage Corner, a group of people led by Dominion N. Penheiro visited all the parishes of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province. Their journey for the model making started by visiting Luxmi Bazar parish and Moreau Seminary, Zindabahar on August 11, 2020. Then they visited Bhadun Pastoral Centre and Mathbari and Narayanganj parishes on August 13, 2020. They went to the parishes of Mymensing Diocese on August 21 and 22, 2020 and visited Mariamnagar, Diglakona, Notre Dame College Mymensing and Pirgacha and Jalchatra parishes. The Holy Cross parishes of the Dinajpur Diocese, Khalippur and Radhanagar, and the Holy Cross parish of the Rajshahi Diocese at Foiljona were visited on August 28 and 29, 2020, respectively. They also visited the Oriental Institute, Holy Cross Novitiate and Padrishibpur parish of the Barishal Diocese on September 18, 2020. The Moreau House campus was visited on September 26, 2020. They went to Sreemangal on October 2, 2020. They visited Notre Dame College, Dhaka along with the Provincial on October 10, 2020. To conclude their tour, they went to the Chittagong Archdiocese to visit Bandarban and Thanchi parish on October 16 and Bolipara on October17, 2020. Fr. Sumon Peter Costa, CSC, on behalf of the Congregation accompanied them everywhere. Sincere gratitude is conveyed to all the parish priests, assistant parish priests and the other pastoral workers for their kind and active cooperation with the visiting team.
The work on the interior design of the Heritage Corner was blessed on September 24, 2020, by Rev. James Clement Cruze, CSC, Provincial Superior of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, Bangladesh, in the presence of several priests and workers. It is hoped that the inauguration of the new Heritage Corner of the Congregation will be held on January 20, 2021.
